Once in Kampala you can choose from a number of good
hotels for example Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Nile Hotel, Grand Imperial Hotel,
Hotel Africana and Equatorial Hotel.
There
are several first class hotels and lodges all over the country.
There are also several low
budget back packer's hostels, inns and motels all over the country.
Visitors
are encouraged to book and make reservations in advance.
For the free of spirit
there are more than enough camp sites to
suit your fancy.
Almost 80% of the accommodation of tourist standard is
concentrated in and around Kampala, with 430 beds being distributed among the
various up-country tourist zones.
Initially, most of the hotels in Uganda
were under a government owned parastatal, Uganda Hotels Limited but all have
been privatized. The Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry in its Integrated
Tourism Development Master Plan, recognizes the need to create additional
capacity, particularly in the National Parks.
According to the Ministry
of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, there are about 4000 hotel beds in the
whole country.
